The Ventura City Planning Council met on Tuesday, March 21, at 7 PM in the council chambers, of the Ventura City Hall located at 501 Poli St. Ventura to consider the extension of the River Haven land use permit.
The council meeting was well attended. Mr. Peter Brown of the City of Ventura, informed the council on his positive findings and Mr. Clyde Reynolds of the Turning Point Foundation presented a status report on River Haven and presented some statistics expressing the benefits of providing a temporary residence.
The meeting was also strongly represented by Rotarians from the Westlake Village Sunrise Club including the club president Mr. Greg Taylor. Miss Sally Adelblue, Rotary District Governor was present and commented on the problem of Homelessness to the Council and encouraged their support. Some residents of the River Haven community also spoke of the benefits of having at least a temporary shelter.
